Bike Tour 03

We would like to offer you Special bike tour program for you to explore and have wonderful experience. Biking in Mon and Karan State is very remarkable trip for you. Those places are not touristy areas and still not many people have done that biking trip before. You can see beautiful landscapes especially the unusual formation of lime stone mountains, caves and the most distinctive features of ethnic groups such as Mon, Karan, Pa-O. You have a chance to stop over the typical villages of Mon and Karen groups during your trip and meet those charming people, experience their loving traditional ways of living and their warm hospitality.










Day (1) Yangon - Mawlamyine(B,D)

You will be pick up by our guide and transfer to the central railway stations to take morning train (6:30 am) to Mawlamyine which is the Capital of Mon State. The rail way line between Yangon and Mawlamying is constructed during British time and the rail line and coaches of the train are still maintained as early conditions as before. The passenger train drive through some towns and many villages of Yangon, Bago and Mon State and making several stops along the way to Mawlamyine.

You are travelling with local people and see local ways of life, farming in the field with animals and beautiful landscapes. You will have lunch on the train and arrival at the Mawlamyine station in the late afternoon. Transfer to the hotel and have dinner. Overnight stay at Mawlamyine.

Day (2) Mawlamyine - WinseinTawya - Kyaikmaraw - Mawlamyine(B,D)

After breakfast at the hotel, your bike tour start from your hotel to Winsein Tawya which is the most famous religious site near Mawlamyine about 30 km from Mawlamyine where you can see the largest reclining Buddha statue and many other stranger figures of different sizes. Visit nearby Mon village and continue by bike to Kyaikmaraw. Before reaching Kyaingmaraw Town you will be riding up and down hill where one can see magnificent view of surround hills and the entrance of town toddy trees line up either side of the main road. Tour around the town you can see some of the old buildings from British time, visit the main temple of the town which is started by queen Shinsawpu over 500 years ago and nearby monastery. Then back to Mawlamyine by bike. You will have dinner at Mawlamyine and overnight at the Hotel.

Day (3) Mawlamyine - Belu Island - Mawlamyine(B,D)

After breakfast at the hotel, go to jetty by bike (about ten minutes) and transfer to the boat(Local public boat or charter Boat) to the big Island called Belu or (Man eater Ogre) but there is no Ogre at that Island, most of the residence there are mainly Mon and Karan live harmony in Chaungzon township which is make up of 64 villages. Tour around by bike to some of the selected villages where you can see typical Mon style wooden and bamboo houses and have a chance to study local cottages industries. Then back to Mawlamyine by boat.
You will have dinner at Mawlamyine and overnight at the Hotel.

Day (4) Mawlamyine - Kado Kawnat Village - Pha Ann(B,D)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transported to the jetty for (about 1 hour 30minus) boat trip. Along the boating trip you can see daily activities of the fishermen, villages on either side of the river, plantations on the river bank, natural sceneries, etc. Upon arrival at the Kado Kawnet Mon village, look around the village by bike and visit very old and impressive wooden monastery donated by a local patriot villager named U Nar- Out during British time. At that time there was big business competition between U Nar- Out and Irrawaddy Flotilla Company in that region. Then proceed to Pha Ann(capital city of Karen Stated) by bike. Check in the hotel and free at your own leisure. Dinner at local restaurant and over night at Pha Ann.

Day (5) Pha Ann - Kawkathaung Cave - Kyaukalat - Zwekabin Mountain - Pha Ann(B,D)

After breakfast at the hotel, start your biking tour from the central market specialized in dry goods and the new market area with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and meats. Then ride your bike out from the town and visit Kawkataung Cave and nearby Natural spring and proceed to small water fall have lunch break there. Continue riding by bike to Lonbini park with Bodi tataung(1000 Buddhas under Bodhi Trees) pagoda at the base of Zawkabin Mountain(2372 ft), visit Kaukkalat Pagoda and its monastery. Back to Pha Ann by bike. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at Pha Ann.

Day (6) Pha Ann - Eaindu - Sadden Cave(B,D)

After breakfast at the hotel, start your biking tour from the central market specialized in dry goods and the new market area with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and meats. Then ride your bike out from the town and visit one of the big Karan village in Eaindu and study production of Karen traditional costume by hand weaving looms for casual cloths and ceremonial cloths. After meeting with local families, proceed to Sadan Cave which is huge and large sized cavern. You can enter and walk through the cave. It is really breathtaking! Back to Pha An by bike. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at Pha Ann.

Day (7) Phn Ann - Bayin Nyi Gu - Thatone(B,D)

After breakfast at the hotel, check out from the hotel and start your biking trip to Bayin Nyi Cave which is a natural lime stone cave on the side of the mountain. Two natural hot spring flow out from the cave to the base of the mountain. One is normal cold water and the other is hot water. Sometime that place is crowded with local visitors who come and enjoy dipping in the hot spring. The believers think that the water contained medicinal qualities and can cure their diseases, illness and skin problems. Lunch at local restaurant and continue to Thatone, It is believed to have been the place where Tharavada Buddhism started in Myanmar. It was an ancient capital of former Mon kingdom and also known as Suvanabhumi.. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at Thatone.

Day (8) Thatone - Zoke Village - Kyaikhto - Kinpum Village - Kyaikhtiyoe(Golden Rock) (B,D)

After breakfast , start riding your bike to Zote Thoke Village via Belin town.
It is one of the mysterious lands of with many old historical monuments as Buddha Images and Stupas. Kyake Hti Saung Sayadaw( venerable monk) and his monastery are very well known spot for local people. There are many old lateite stone Images and the brick wall of the old city in Zote thoke village . After sightseeing there proceed to Kyaikhto town and then to Kinpun Village. That way is very interesting you will ride your bike through the villages of Mon and Karen people. From the Kin Pun base camp the journey is made in open trucks, which are very crowded in festival time. The upper area must be travel on foot, and the walk is approximately 4km(1hour) up a steep winding path. After check in the hotel, continue to one of Myanmar’ landmarks, which is famous for its precarious position and religious importance : KYAIKHTIYOE the ‘Golden Rock Pagoda’ a hugh boulder completely covered by gold leaf and Precariously balanced on the edge of the cliff. Dinner and overnight at Kyaikhtiyoe.

Day (9) Kyaikhtiyoe(golden Rock) - Theinzayat - Bago - Yangon(B,D)

On that day we only do biking tour up to Theinzayat Train station.
Breakfast at the hotel, You have to walk down (about 25mins) to the Ye thit Taung camp to take open truck. Return back to Kinpun Village where you will start your bike tour to Theinzayat .Lunch at Local restaurant. When you get Theinzayat , you will be pick up by a car and back to Yangon via Bago.
